
Talamanca Range-La Amistad Reserves / La Amistad National Park (Costa Rica / Panama)- The vast tropical rainforests of La Amistad are a safe refuge for a variety of rare animals including the legendary bird, the quetzal. The Talamanca Mountain Range stretches from central Costa Rica to western Panama. The forested region that surrounds the mountain range is called La Amistad and is Costa Rica's largest nature reserve. The primeval forest is Central America's largest when the section situated on the Panama side of the border is included, and the richness of its fauna and flora is unmatched anywhere in the world. Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Tanzania) - The endless savanna of the Serengeti National Park and the vast crater of the Ngorongoro Conservation in which man and beast coexist. The name Serengeti means "Endless Plains" in the language of the Masai tribe. The Serengeti is situated at the center of the savanna of Africa, and is Tanzania's largest national park. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area which is adjacent to the Serengeti National Park is a crater formed by a massive volcanic eruption that is dotted with marshes which are frequented by hippopotami.
